The story of our memories

There are so many stories and memories we all share with Aunt Daph, it's difficult to pick out the best!
my earliest memory would date back to another sad moment in Aunt Daphs story when we lost Uncle Reg. Myself as a young child standing in a room full of adults toasting him at the top of my lungs!! "Here's to Uncle Reg"
Aunt Daph was never blessed with children, but to be honest she didn't need them when she had "us lot". Aunt Daphs was the place to be in the holidays.... I loved asking her stories about my mum when she was young... Two that stuck in my mind was when mum fell in the rose bush after being on a date with my dad. But the best was when she and all the cousins dressed up the poddle, including red nail varnish on her claws.
I used to remember going down to Pontins to meet her at work and go swimming. I knew when it was time to come out as she would walk down the poolside looking smart in her uniform and give me the "look".
When I used to stop over I used to be amazed as we took a walk to the shop with the cordless phone in her shopping bag!!! She was the first person to have a "mobile phone" :) thank god it didn't ring, I would have been an embarrassed 8 year old with her aunt on the phone whilst buying stamps!!!
who remembers Bella? I used to hate the smell of cooking hearts from the kitchen! She was one spoilt pooch, but I loved her just as much! The early mornings sitting on Aunt Daphs bed playing with Bella.
As Aunt Daph got to her twilight years the memories never faided, visiting her at Caister and her always telling me off if I had a headlight out on my car! Taking her shopping and going for afternoon tea were great highlights!
We Aunt Daph moved to the lawns this opened another book of memories! She mastered her electric wheelchair like a "pro". having said that I don't think the woodwork would agree!!!!! She was like a boy racer taking herself up and down the "streets" in the lawns. As a well loved Aunt who has been the centre of our lives for so long no one could argue her individual and loving character! Will love u for ever xx
